Arabica กับ Robusta มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างไร ?
Arabica : สายพันธ์ุอาราบิก้า จะเจริญเติบโตได้ดีในพื้นที่สูง 900-2,000 เมตร ลักษณะของเมล็ดจะ รี แบน เมื่อคั่วแล้วจะมีกลิ่นหอมรสเปรี้ยวชุ่มฉ่ำของผลไม้ มีรสชาติ ที่หวาน หอม ละมุน และมีกรดหลากหลายชนิดทำให้มีรสชาติเปรี้ยวซับซ้อนกว่าโรบัสต้า ผลผลิตน้อย ไม่ทนทานต่อโรค เก็บเกี่ยวได้ 1 ครั้งต่อปี ทำให้ราคาสูงกว่า นิยมปลูกกันอย่างมาก เนื่องจากกำลังเป็นเทรนด์กาแฟของโลก ด้วยความนุ่มนวลของรสชาติที่ดีกว่า Robusta นั่นเอง
Robusta: สายพันธ์ุโรบัสต้า จะเจริญเติบโตได้ดีในพื้นที่ต่ำกว่า 1,000 เมตร ชอบอากาศ ร้อน ชื้น โรบัสต้ามีคาเฟอีนสูงและบอดี้มากกว่า ลักษณะของเมล็ดจะขนาดเล็ก กลม เมื่อคั่วแล้วจะได้กลิ่นหอมช็อคโกแลต ทนทานต่อโรค ทำให้ผลผลิตเยอะ จึงทำให้ราคาต่ำ เนื่องจากรสชาติที่เข้มขม ปริมาณคาเฟอีนสูง ผู้บริโภค เมื่อทานแล้วจะมีความรู้สึกตื่นตัวอยู่ตลอดและบางรายที่ไม่ชินกับการดื่มกาแฟอาจทำให้นอนหลับยาก
